ANTI SOCIAL MEDIA? I GOT YOU!
We cannot ignore the fact that social media is our reality. It accounts for a massive amount of our exposure as a beauty brand. I have had numerous conversations about this topic. I hear a lot of people say a few different things.
You don't feel comfortable or even want to share your life online.
Social media leaves you feeling drained.
You just don't know how to create content and it never looks like other accounts.
All valid concerns so let's talk about it!
YOU DON'T WANT TO SHARE YOUR LIFE ONLINE
Here is the thing about social media. You can share things every day and your viewers will only know what you share. I personally post online all the time. It is STILL just a small fraction of who I am and what I do on a daily basis. Sharing your day to day helps your viewers feel connected to you. It gives you the ability to interact over common interests and daily tasks. In the beauty industry, we have the ability to curate our clientele. I make sure I put out who I am and what I surround myself with so I can attract clients that align with who I am. It works! If you still think posting online takes too much of your day, that is ok! You don't have to post anything. Live your life!
SOCIAL MEDIA LEAVES YOU FEELING IRRITATED AND DRAINED
This is an easy fix. Who are you following? What posts make you feel drained? As soon as you scroll onto something that irritates your soul, UNFOLLOW IT! It is no different than walking away from someone who is irritating your soul in real life. Follow accounts that inspire you, motivate you, and leave you thinking deeper thoughts. This will no doubt improve your mindset and your experience online.
YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO CREATE ALL THE PRETTY IG FEEDS
Who told you that you have to? Visually pleasing feeds do look pretty but I'm the type of person who could care less and you should look into that mindset. I want my content to help my viewers, inspire them, make them laugh. Everything I look for in accounts that I follow. If you want to level up your content, Canva is a great tool. Hop on YouTube and watch some tutorials. Follow accounts that give quick tips. It doesn't have to be perfect to connect with people.
If you still are thinking, it's a no for you on social media. You can still be amazing and have an online presence.
